The Canon PowerShot SX10 IS 10-megapixel a good camera for landscape and macro shots?

I'm trying to find the right camera, and after all the research that I always come back to this camera. I took off the old 5.2 and compact camera, I'm not sure I am ready with all the settings on an SLR much, but I like this camera has many features that reflex.

Any other recommendations for good camera that I use? I want to spend 400 or less. Again, I am skeptical, SLR, but I'm open. I know that I am a camera on the Route 400 or less, I just want something that works well.
